Microsoft Whiteboard is used to express or present ideas but in a virtual way. It is a platform where you can put in all your ideas and collaborate with people to create the same environment as you discuss and plan during the physical meets.
Whiteboard offers you a lot of features to work with, like adding images, adding templates, etc. The most convenient thing about Microsoft Whiteboard is that it is available for iPhone, iPad, and the Web version.
How to use Microsoft Whiteboard?
The steps to use the Microsoft Whiteboard are:
- Install the application on your device or open the same using the Web version.
- Tap on the ‘Create New Whiteboard’ button to create a Whiteboard.
- A blank space will appear on the screen, along with some controls to use. The controls present on the Microsoft Whiteboard are:
- The back-arrow icon on the top left of the screen takes you to the main window where you can jump to other boards or create a new one.
- The share button on the top right of the screen highlighted in Blue will take you to the board’s sharing options.
- The RW button on the top right of the screen takes you to your profile from where you can log out or sign in to some other account.
- The horizontally lined icon takes you to the board settings.
- The creation tools are available at the bottom of the screen.
How to collaborate using Microsoft Whiteboard?
A Whiteboard is a convenient tool when it comes to collaborating with others virtually. Though the collaboration feature only works if all the participants belong to the same organization.
The steps to collaborate or share a board with an individual are:
- Open the board you’re working with, and tap on the Share button on the top right of the screen highlighted in blue color.
- Select the name of the person you want to send an invite or type it in the search bar.
Note: All the participants having access to the board can make changes to the same, by default. If you want to restrict the person from making any changes to the board, tap on the icon beside ‘Can Edit’ and make changes to the settings by selecting the ‘Read Only’ option.
- Tap on the ‘Invite’ button for the final step.
An invitation along with a link will be forwarded to the participant you’ve sent an invite. Clicking on the link will directly take the participant to the Whiteboard.
In case, you want to stop the board’s access to the participant, click on the three-dotted icon in front of the board and select the ‘Invite Participants’ option. The participant’s names will appear, click on the three-dotted icon next to the name of the participant and tap on the ‘Remove Participant’ button.
The steps to collaborate or share a board with a bunch of people are:
- Open the board you’re working with, and tap on the Share button on the top right of the screen highlighted in blue color.
- Click on the three-dotted icon on the top right corner of the screen and click on the ‘Create Sharing Link’ option.
- Turn the slider on for ‘Web Sharing Link.’
- A unique link will be generated. Copy the link and send it to the participants you want to invite to your board. When they click on the link, it’ll directly bring them to the board window.
- In case you want to stop the access of the board to the participants, turn the slider off for ‘Web Sharing Link,’ and the link will no longer remain active.
