How to connect Apple Airpod with Your MacBook

Apple AirPods works effortlessly on various iOS devices, but you ever wonder how to use these earbuds on your Mac device. The process of pairing and connecting your AirPods with Mac devices are also straightforward and accessible.

In case you are using your earbuds the first time, then you need to pair it over Mac for the pairing process. Once the device is paired, Apple will sync all your Apple supported devices with your iCloud account. It provides you to access all your data from anywhere. Just like a headset or neckband, you need these earbuds to pair with your Mac device if you want to access various features on it.


Checking Paired Devices over Mac

In case, your iOS device is already paired with any of the pairing devices; then this entire device will be displayed in the Volume Control section and Bluetooth Menus. It applies when you use the same Apple associated ID and Handoff activated on your Mac device. These AirPods are also used on other gadgets such as Windows and Android devices.

Here are the instructions to know how to connect or pair Apple Airpods with the Mac device:

Connecting AirPods with Mac Devices

  • In the beginning, launch the charging section (case) located just nearby the Mac device. (It applies when the Bluetooth settings are activated).
  • Then, press the Bluetooth icon there just from the comfort of your menu bar.
  • Now, select “AirPods” and then hit the Connect tab to pair the AirPods with Mac. Sometimes this procedure fails to work. In case you are unable to view AirPods in the menu section, or if it refuses to connect, then you need to pair the device manually with your Mac.
  • To pair the AirPods manually with your Mac, hit the Apple icon situated at the menu bar and then choose the option “System Preferences.”
  • Now, navigate towards the Bluetooth menu and ensure that the Bluetooth is activated on both the devices.
  • Now, flip up the charging socket located nearby the Mac device.
  • After that, tap and hold down the Setup button situated at the backside of your gadget’s case until you see a white-colored light flashing there. It appears as a mini circular tab. This flashing of the light signifies that the AirPods are in the connected state.
  • After a couple of seconds, you will be able to view your AirPods in the Devices section on the Mac.
  • Now, press the tab “Connect” available just after the name of your device.
  • In case the device supports Hey Siri commands, then the device will ask you whether you wish to activate the feature or not.
  • Now, hit the Enable tab in case you wish the feature to get activated.
  • Here, both the devices: AirPods Pro and AirPods are successfully paired with each other with the Mac. Hit the options tab available just after the headphone list options to modify the settings of your Mac anytime. It will get connected automatically once paired the first time.
  • Now, you may configure double click features. You can modify various setup operations on Mac. If you wish to configure the two-time tapping action, then deactivate the automatic ear detection feature, noise cancellation settings for your AirPods Pro device. You have to select the microphone that you wish to use.
  • Once the AirPods get connected, you have to release both the earbuds from the case. Then fix them into your ears. You will then hear a sound of connection that will notify you that the Mac has successfully switched the sound output with your headphones.
  • In case the AirPods are in the paired mode, but it’s still not responding, then you have to check it out by hitting the Volume Control section. This is available in the menu bar. Now, select the earbuds to get it turned on.
  • You may monitor the battery power of your AirPods and also the connectivity. All these can be checked and managed by the Bluetooth menu situated in the menu bar.
  • Now, press the Disconnect tab if you wish to stop the feature by using AirPods on your Mac device. It will also help you in case you wish to move to another device.
