‘The Lord of the Rings’ is a fantasy adventure film inspired by a novel written by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is a series of three films released between 2001 and 2003, named ‘The Fellowship of the Ring,’ ‘The Two Towers,’ and ‘The Return of the King.’
The series is considered one of the most influential films ever made, which performed exceptionally well in the box office. Being on top of the success list, the series collected a total of $2.981 billion worldwide. The critics and the audience appreciated all three movies. Not only this, but it also won 17 Academy Award nominations.
The news is that ‘The Lord of the Rings’ will be returning as a web TV series by Amazon. The upcoming series will focus on three classic characters that are Elrond, Sauron, and Galadriel. A report from Theonering.net has confirmed the same. The trio was also seen in the three ‘Lord of the Rings’ series.
The second season of the series was also renewed in 2019, and the show makers have already started working on it, according to a report. The early renewal also means that the release between the first and the second season won’t take much time. Shippey- a member of the creative team, also confirmed that the first season will be packed with a total of 20 episodes.
The production activity of the series took place in March 2020 but had to be stopped because of the pandemic. There is no official announcement about the release date of the same. However, the movie can be expected to release in 2021. A lot of shows and movies have shifted their release date due to the pause in shooting, but the permission for the shooting has been granted to the filmmakers. Therefore, the shooting will resume in New Zealand.
The series is based on mythical creatures like wizards, hobbits, dwarves, elves, etc. With the announcement of the Amazon series, it was assumed that it would be based on the three novels itself. However, a confirmation came out in March 2020, that the show will be a prequel series.
The cast of the series includes Owain Arthur, Robert Aramayo, Nazanin Bonaid, Morfydd Clark, Tom Budge, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Dylan Smith, Maxim Baldry, Charlie Vickers, Tyroe Muhafidin, and Daniel Weyman.
‘Lord of the Rings’ fans are eagerly waiting for the TV series to air and are excited to see the prequel version. Unfortunately, no teasers are out, but one is expected to release soon after the production completes.
