The original Mafia launched in early 2002, and their players were allowed to ride the streetcars and trains. Riding trains and streetcars were part of public transport, but it was quite fun. Riding and chilling out in trains and streetcars gave a unique experience to the players. But now, a new version – “Mafia: Definitive Edition” just released and fans are wondering if they can do the same in this version as well. Players who have experienced the ride of trains and streetcars on Mafia are so obsessed and looking to experience a similar vibe in Mafia: Definitive Edition.
Both streetcars and trains are available as Public Transportation at Lost Heaven, but unfortunately, these vehicles are not available for the ride. Similar to the original Mafia, the Mafia: Definitive Edition has the vehicles on the exact location, but now players are not allowed to use it. In a cut scene of the first mission, Tommy didn’t take the trolley or train for traveling.
Now, this is unfortunate that the riding trains and streetcars feature is removed. Developers decided to remove this feature because in Mafia: Definitive Edition, they wanted the players to enjoy only major parts of the city. As compared to the original Mafia game, several things are not added in Mafia: Definitive Edition. Most of the outside world things in Mafia: Definitive Edition are underutilized.
What players loved about the Mafia was accessing things of the open world. However, Mafia: Definitive Edition made changes in those things which players admired the most. The missions and graphics of the game are still great, but for most of the players, those small things play a huge part in entertainment. Players who used to ride the streetcars and trains in Mafia are now taking sides from the overall package of Mafia: Definitive Edition. There are many areas in Mafia: Definitive Edition like “Empire Bay” that are now unusable.
Fans are not happy with these slight changes in Mafia: Definitive Edition. Furthermore, developers have also stated no reason for the removal. Fans were attached to those small features a lot, and after knowing that these features are not available, they are upset.
Mafia has a huge fan base around the world. Since the launching of the original Mafia, the growing number of the game has always increased. Missions and content in the first original Mafia were truly epic, but fans are not happy with the current edition. Developers have removed several things to represent the game more developed, but fans were so attached to those small parts of the game that are now no longer available.
Conclusion
Indeed, the dialogue of every character and visuals of the game is improved, but without adding the elements and with poor mission design, fans are not happy. No doubt, fans are more connected to the original Mafia, but it will be interesting to see what developers will do in the future to regain the interest of players.
