The great thing about Mega Raid battles is that they provide some extra benefits like Mega Energy, candies, and easy catching. If a trainer is lucky, they can get the shiny form as well.
September month offers shiny forms of many Pokemon and “Lotad” is one of them. Lotad is a Grass/Water-type Pokemon, and its shiny form is stunning. Indeed, catching shiny forms of Pokemon is not an easy task. Players have to explore a lot and check a lot of Pokemon to find the Pokemon with shiny form. Even though the Mega Event is going on, finding the shiny form of Lotad is still tough.
Pokemon Go informed the players that they could catch Lotad’s shiny form in the wild. The normal ratio of catching shiny Pokemon is rare around 1 in 450 checks. So players have to check almost every nearby spawned Lotad to increase the chances of appearing shiny form of Lotad. In the current event, there are 14 Pokemon whose shiny forms are appearing in the wild. Trainers are currently focusing on Lotad because it’s a dual-type Pokemon with amazing looks. The normal form of Lotad is spawning in the wild a lot, but the task is to find the shiny form. So the first thing players should try is event tasks.
Lotad Event Task
To increase the chances of spawning Lotad’s shiny form, players have to complete the event tasks by spinning the Pokestop. By spinning the PokeStop, players will have the field tasks to complete. Field tasks provide several rewards, and “Encountering Pokemon.” In the event, the chances of encountering Lotad are high, so it’s better to give it a try. Field tasks provide many types of challenges and completing those challenges provide guaranteed rewards.
If a player manages to encounter Lotad in-field tasks, they’ll surely get two or three or higher stars. However, Lotad does not always appear in “Encounter Pokemon”. Players can find Lotad in raid battles as well. In the raid battles, the chances of encountering shiny Pokemon are high. However, Lotad does not appear in the Raid battles, but it can randomly show up.

Checking in the wild is the only option that is always available for trainers. During the event, Lotad appears at almost every location. So try to check every Lotad that spawns on the map. By following this procedure, players can find the great CP of Pokemon or a shiny form of Lotad. If both conditions don’t match, then players can transfer Lotad as well to get one additional candy. The chances of appearing shiny Pokemon are 1/450, so it’s all about luck and some efforts on checks.
Lotad is Grass/Water-type Pokemon, so trainers can also look out the nearby water locations. Near water, Lotad appears frequently, so it will increase the chances of Lotad’s shiny form. To confirm the Lotad is shiny, players have to click on it.

The spawn rate of Lotad is great, but its shiny form is quite hard to find. Lotad has two evolution forms: Lombre and Ludicolo. For PVP and Raid battles, Ludicolo is a valuable Pokemon.
