Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to Prepare for Crown Tundra DLC

During the Isle of Armor DLC expansion launch, Pokemon Sword and Shield fans’ excitement was neutral. The developers of Pokemon Sword and Shield didn’t add much content in The Isle of Armor, which is why fans didn’t bother to prepare themselves. However, now things are different with Crown Tundra DLC. The reason behind this is that the developers have added plenty of new content to the game.

Before the Crown Tundra DLC arrives, players have to prepare themselves with some basic planning. When you’re preparing for the upcoming DLC expansion, make sure to have a goal in mind. If you have completed the storyline, you’ll not be required to do many things. However, most of the players will certainly finish the main storyline before trying the new DLC. The Crown Tundra is all set to bring new and old Pokemon, which was not available in Pokemon Sword and Shield before.

Making Money with Meowth

If you haven’t completed the Pokemon Sword and Shield and are carrying a huge amount of cash, then you’ll be going to spend a lot of your money in Crown Tundra. The upcoming DLC will launch a wide variety of clothes that players will love to try. In the previous DLC (Isle of Armor), the clothes were so expensive, and the fancy business suit was totally out of range for most of the players.

In the Isle of Armor, earning money wasn’t too tricky because Game Freak launched a series of Mystery Gift events. Players who played that event reached tons of Nuggets. Even if you missed those events, you could still make a decent amount of cash through Gigantamax Meowth.

Making money using Meowth is pretty simple, but make sure to have Meowth over level 65 and give it an Amulet Coin. If you have completed the Sword and Shield, then play the tournament battles. There you need to compete against other trainers. Begin your battle with Gigantamax Mewth and use the G-Max Gold Rush three times to earn over 100k per battle.

Stocking Up for the Journey

After having a good amount of cash, you need to prepare with the Ultra Balls. It will play a significant aspect in the Crown Tundra DLC. While exploring, you’ll encounter plenty of Pokemon in the wild that usually spawn near you. So keep a good collection of Ultra Balls to catch a great variety of Pokemon.

Preparation to Catch a Pokemon

While playing Pokemon Sword and Shield, make sure to have a specific Pokemon that you can use to train yourself and for catching other Pokemon. You can use any Pokemon in this preparation, but as an example – Gallade is a decent option. Gallade is Psychic/Fighting-type Pokemon with some incredible moves. It can learn four key moves – Psycho Cut, False Swipe, Close Combat, and Hypnosis.

The reliable move of Gallande is False Swipe that does not knock out the enemy Pokemon but leaves it with one HP. Leaving a Pokemon on one HP helps a lot while catching. However, while using this move, make sure not to use it on Ghost-type Pokemon because it doesn’t affect it. On Ghost-type Pokemon, you can use Psycho Cut and use Ultra Ball to catch them.

Farming EXP – Chansey Killer

The primary reason behind giving Gallade Close Combat move is to take proper advantage of the upcoming DLC. Most of the fans are not aware that Chansey and Blissey offer more EXP when defeated than any other Pokemon. So you can use them to farm EXP quickly. There’s a possibility that Blissey and Chansey will be available in Crown Tundra, so you have to find a way to grind EXP.

The best counter for Blissey and Chansey is Gallade because of its dual-type abilities. Its Psycho Cut and Close Combat moves are the best moves you can rely on. When you are looking to defeat Chansey quickly, make sure to use Close Combat move along with the PP items.

Farming the Wild Area

The next thing you’ll need in the Crown Tundra DLC is evolution items. The most reliable source to find the evolution items is the Wild Area. Rare items like Digging Duo can be found nearby the Nursery. You need to visit there every day until you find plenty of rare items. You can also obtain rare items through purchasing. In the shop, use your cash to purchase all necessary rare and prepare yourself for Crown Tundra DLC.

Conclusion

Crown Tundra DLC is going to be unique. Fans missed many things in the previous DLC expansion Isle of Armor, but developers have added some fresh new content worth waiting for. A few days back, Pokemon Sword and Shield confirmed what they would give in the future DLC expansion. Now, as the launch time comes closer, the fans are getting excited and already prepared for the new update.
